Marie Therese "Cecile"  Gaudet (Comeau)
Somesville and Mount Desert -- Marie Therese “Cecile” Gaudet, 98, passed away at home on January 25, 2017 with her daughter, Edna, son, Philippe and granddaughter, Jessica by her side. She was born November 2, 1918 in Belliveau Cove, Nova Scotia the daughter of Elisee and Lucie Comeau.

Cecile lived 98 wonderful years. She made Somesville her home for almost 63 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and worker. Any family pictures, rocks, shells or flowers were proudly displayed in her home. For 12 years she loved her weekly visits from Mount Desert Nursing and the past 9 years The Straus Adult Day Program which she loved attending so much. She never complained and had a witty sense of humor. Her favorite response was “good good” and sometimes responded in French.

Cecile is survived by her son, Philippe Gaudet and wife, Cindy of San Diego, CA., daughters; Edna Gaudet of Somesville, ME and Judith Hayes and husband, Guy of Soldotna, AK, grandchildren; Terri McEldowney, Philip Phelps, Heather Benson Dwyer, Jessica St. Amand, Dylan, Tyler and Jordan Gaudet. Fifteen great-grandchildren; Amber, Heather, Kayla and Megan McEldowney, Tevin Workman and Kai Phelps, Kelci and Whitney Benson, Hannah, Ella and Ava St. Amand, Keegan, Jaxon, Finley and Reef Gaudet. Two sisters, Rosemarie Lapointe and Beatrice Shymanski of Windsor, Ontario, several nieces, nephews and special family friends, Doloris “Sunny” Schwenk and her sister, Maria MacCarthy. She was predeceased by her husband, Resther Gaudet in 1994, daughter, Claudette “Sam” Stevens in 2016 and grandson, John Stevens in 2010, two sisters and two brothers.

Spring interment will be at Brookside Cemetery, Somesville. Those who desire may make donations in Cecile’s memory to the Mt. Desert Nursing Association, PO Box 397, NEH, ME 04662 or Northeast Harbor Ambulance, PO Box 122, NEH, ME 04662. “AU REVOIR”.
